Travel to Italy with Three Rivers!

          The beautiful Italian countryside, culture and people will be the focus of a unique travel/learning opportunity sponsored by Three Rivers Community College.
 
           The Three Rivers Office of Extended Learning is organizing a nine-day trip to Italy that will include visits to Rome, Florence and Venice. The tour can be taken for credit or non-credit and will include stops in some of Italy’s most impressive and memorable cities. The tour will be taken June 9-17, 2008.
 
            The journey will include three days in Rome, including visits to the Vatican City, including St. Peter’s Basilica and the world-famous Sistine Chapel. Also in Rome, the tour will include the historic Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and an excursion to Tivoli. The tour will then go on to Assisi, the home of St. Francis, and from there proceed to Florence. While in Florence there will be a guided tour of Florence and travelers will see a leather-making demonstration and visit the Accademia. The journey will continue to Verona and ends in Venice. Time in Venice will include tours of St. Mark’s Square, Campanile and the Grand Canal. Also, in Venice the group will visit the Doges’ Palace and attend a glass-blowing demonstration.
 
            Reservations will be accepted until Dec. 14 for this once-in-a-lifetime journey to Italy. A $100 deposit is necessary with reservations. 
 
            The cost of the journey for persons not wishing college credit is $2,881 for students and $3,171 for adults. The cost for credit, including Three Rivers tuition and fees, is $3,113.50 for students living in the Three Rivers taxing district, $3,230.50 for out-of-district students, and $3,305.50 for students living outside Missouri.
