PLACEMENT TEST
SCHEDULED AT THREE RIVERS

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. - Three Rivers Community College will administer the ASSET placement exam for new students.

The ASSET exam will be administered at 8 a.m., Tuesday, March 11, in the Testing Center in the E.K. Porter Distance Learning Center on the Three Rivers campus in Poplar Bluff.

The ASSET is a testing program for placing new students. The exam consists of three 25-minute segments that test writing skills, reading skills, and mathematics. There is no cost for the test, but students taking the ASSET must have been admitted to the college and paid the $20 admission fee. The examination time is two hours.

The ASSET is the assessment tool used by TRCC to place entering students in the appropriate mathematics and English classes. The ASSET is not used like a traditional test. There is generally no "passing score" and students cannot fail. ASSET scores indicate areas in which are strong and areas in which students may need help.

For additional information concerning the ASSET, contact the Diane Rodriquez, Coordinator of Test and Assessment, at the TRCC Test Center at 573-840-9667 or call the college toll-free at 1-877-TRY-TRCC
