
KIMBROW RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD FOR COMMUNITY COLLEGE LEADERSHIP
POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. - A Three Rivers Community College administrator has been recognized by a national organization for his leadership at TRCC.
Executive Vice President and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Larry Kimbrow received the Exemplary Leader Award at the 2008 International Leadership Conference of the Academyin Denver Colorado. Kimbrow was recognized for his leadership in the opening of Three Rivers' off-campus sites throughout Southeast Missouri and the expansion of new degree programs at the college.
"Dr. Kimbrow is an advocate for cohesiveness and strong communication throughout the college and is strong in community involvement and leadership. He is responsible for the design and development of the new AAS degree in Diversified Technology with 14 program options," it was noted by The Chair Academy in the award citation. "He has strong connections between the college and educational partners, area communities and other constituents."
Kimbrow has served at Three Rivers since 1998, first as dean of Career and Workforce Development and since May 2005 as the executive vice president and vice president for academic affairs.
He is retired from the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant Commander after a distinguished 28-year career in both enlisted and officer service. He is a native of Southeast Missouri and holds an associate of science degree from State Technical Institute in Memphis, Tenn., a bachelor's degree in management from Western Illinois University, a bachelor's degree in professional aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautics University, a master's degree from the University of Arkansas and a doctor of education degree from Nova Southeastern University.
