THREE RIVERS TO OFFER EXAM FOR STUDENTS ENTERING TEACHER EDUCATION
POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. - Three Rivers Community College will administer the College Base (C-BASE) exam this month for students in the teacher education program.
The C-BASE exam will be administered at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 21 at the Testing Center in the E.K. Porter Distance Learning Center on the Three Rivers campus.
Students working toward the Associate of Arts in Teaching degree at Three Rivers are required to pass the C-Base as a part of the college's AAT degree program. The exam tests students on four academic areas - English, mathematics, social studies and science. The English section has two parts - Reading and Literature, and Writing.
Registration for the C-BASE exam is $50 each time a student takes the exam. Students are advised to register early since seating is limited. Students should arrive at the Testing Center in ample time to register and prepare for the exam, and should bring at least one pencil, a photo I.D., and a simple calculator. A guide to the exam, "Students Guide to College Base," is available free in the Three Rivers Testing Office.
Students are encouraged to take the test after completing 30 college credit hours. Information on the C-BASE exam is available at www.arc.Missouri.edu/collegebase. This site includes a study guide and sample test questions.
