THREE RIVERS MUSIC STUDENTS
SELECTED FOR COLLEGIATE HONORS CHOIR

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. - A group of music students from Three Rivers Community College were recently selected to participate in a regional honors choir for college students from throughout the Midwest.
Eight Three Rivers choral music students were selected for the prestigious Collegiate Honors Choir of the Southwest American Choral Directors Association. The students participated in workshops and rehearsals in Kansas City Feb. 20 -23, culminating in a concert held Saturday, Feb. 23.
Selected for the Honor Choir were Heather Faries, Doniphan; Elizebeth Gilbreath, Grandin; Carrie Lizzenbee, Dudley; Dee Stocks, Poplar Bluff; Andrew Boone, Dexter; Matt Pulley, Bloomfield; Jeremy Scott, New Madrid, and Jeremy Tolliver, Poplar Bluff. The students are all members of the Swingsations Choir or Three Rivers Collegiate Choir. Accompanying the students to the convention was Three Rivers choral music instructor Cindy White.
The choir of 300 collegiate musicians included students from colleges and universities in Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. The choir was under the direction of Dr. Eph Ehly, Professor Emeritus at the Conservatory of Music, University of Missouri - Kansas City. The choir was accompanied in concert by the Lee's Summit Symphony Orchestra.
The Department of Music at Three Rivers Community College is a multi-faceted program with courses for both choral and instrumental students preparing to enter careers in music and music education and the general student who wishes to understand, appreciate and support music.
