THREE RIVERS TO SPONSOR CLASS
ON NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE
POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. - Three Rivers Community College is sponsoring a class on the latest national electrical codes designed for area electricians and contractors needing to update their knowledge of the newly-updated national standards.
The non-credit four-week course, Selected Changes for the National Electrical Code, will meet each Tuesday from Dec. 2 through Dec. 23. Instructor for the course will be Three Rivers Industrial Technology instructor Ron Raines. Students successfully completing the course will receive a certificate that can be useful in applying for journeyman or master electrician status.
"Electricians are always in demand," said Bud Joyner, Dean of Career Education and Workforce Development at Three Rivers. "There is a need for individuals who are trained in the national standards in the 2008 National Electrical Code. This course will help local contractors and electricians become better acquainted with the latest standards."
The National Electrical Code is the most widely used code in the U.S. and the world. It is adopted in practically all U.S. states, many territories, and several countries. The 2008 NEC is the 51st edition of the code.
For additional information on the course or to register contact the Career and Workforce Development Office at Three Rivers at 573-840-9682. The cost of the course is $75. There will be an additional charge for those who need the NEC Codes Book.
