STUDENTS TO COMPETE IN
AREA INDUSTRIAL TECHNICAL FAIR
AT TRCC

 POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. - The Three Rivers Community College campus will be a beehive of activity Tuesday and Wednesday, April 22 - 23, as high school students from across Southeast Missouri participate in the 60th Annual Southeast Missouri District Industrial Technology Fair hosted by Three Rivers.
 
 More than 200 entries from Southeast Missouri high school students will be set up, polished, refined and readied in the Bess Activity Center on the TRCC campus for the judges during Tuesday's check-in at the fair. The doors to the Herschel & Arrettia Bess Activity Center will close at 4 p.m. for judging.
 
 On Wednesday, April 23 from 8 until 10:30 a.m., the public is invited to view the projects at the Herschell and Arrettia Bess Center - ranging from artfully crafted furniture to metalwork, computer applications, photography and complex power and energy projects. Admission is free. The Awards Ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m.
 
 Students from throughout the region participate in this annual competition, hosted by Three Rivers Community College in conjunction with the Southeast Missouri District of the Technical Education Association of Missouri. Students compete in 13 different categories, with prizes awarded in each. In addition, the top 60 entries are selected to compete in the state Industrial Technology Fair. Awards are presented for Best Overall Entry and a traveling trophy is presented to the high school with the largest number of state qualifiers.
 
 Three Rivers Community College also presents a two-year scholarship to TRCC to a top ranked senior student participating in the fair.
