TRCC Patrons of the Arts

Support for the Arts

Generous donations helping to bring key cultural events to TRCC

Each year, the Tinnin Fine Arts Center at Three Rivers Community College provides cultural opportunities for the region such as national touring productions, legendary performers, plays, concerts and stage shows. Such cultural events would not be possible without the significant contributions of TRCC’s Patrons of the Arts.

Members of this philanthropic organization have donated more than $70,000 to fund a variety of quality events and exhibits at TRCC’s Tinnin Center.

“It is through the support of the Patrons of the Arts that Three Rivers Community College is able to provide significant cultural enhancements so needed and appreciated in our region,” said Judith W. Scott, TRCC Vice President for College Advancement.

Sponsorship of performances by Patrons also keep ticket prices affordable. Because of donations from 1st Community Bank, tickets to the National Broadway Touring Production of “Mame” in 2005 and the new Siigmund Romberg Orchestra in 2004 were less than half of what is typically charged for such productions in St. Louis.

“We invite others in our community to support the arts at TRCC by joining Patrons of the Arts,” Scott said. Membership is open to those who contribute significantly to bringing special music, art, drama, dance, literature, lecture and film to the community through Three Rivers Community College.

Past donations from Patrons of the Arts have made possible the Smithsonian Art Exhibit “Women of Southern Appalachia,” a national touring production of Shakespeare’s “Tempest” and musical performances by the Glen Miller Orchestra,  River City Ramblers, Fulgham & Friends, the Arianna String Quartet, St. Louis Irish Arts, “Black Broadway,” the St. Louis Brass Quintet, Rosilee Walker and Rosario Andino.

“None of these outstanding performances would have appeared on our campus without the patronage of people who are committed to promoting the arts, especially when the financial resources of education are strained,” Scott said.

Membership levels for Patrons of the Arts are: Member, $100 or more; Supporter, $500 or more; Patron, $1,000 or more; Sponsor, $3,500 or more; Benefactor, $5,000 or more; Distinguished Benefactor, $10,000 or more; Lifetime Distinguished Benefactor, $100,000 or more.
