Thank you for your inquiry about the cheer program at Three Rivers Community College. You must download the cheer team application. You must bring the application, waiver and two written recommendation letters with you to the first open practice or clinic. All forms must be signed by you and your parent/guardian, if under 21 years of age.

Cheer Team Application and Waiver

Cheer Clinic / Tryout Dates

Clinic is required for all cheer team applicants and takes place on Thursday and Friday, with Tryouts beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Clinic/Tryout dates for the 2010-2011 season are: March 25-27, 2010.

Cheer Tryout Requirements
Those trying out must attend both practices and clinics. The following will be expected at tryouts (but can change at the coaches discretion): chant, cheer, toe touch, dance and splits (girls only), and partner stunts. Required: toss shoulder, toss hands for new applicants, toss hands extension or higher for returning team members. Required* Tumbling: standing back-handspring or standing back-tuck.   *Tumbling experience is preferable but not required for men.

MALES are encouraged to tryout, no experience needed, just the desire.

The attire for Clinic days is comfortable clothing for workouts – no nylon or other slick shorts. On Tryout day, required attire is: PLAIN BLACK SHORTS, PLAIN WHITE T-SHIRT (MALES), PLAIN BLACK SPORTS BRA ( FEMALES), white socks, PLAIN WHITE TENNIS SHOES. All participants must make their own arrangements for lodging if they must stay over during tryouts.

Those who make the team will be on full tuition scholarship, in/out of district or state. This does not cover food, housing, books, etc. Team members are required to live at Rivers Ridge, the on-campus residence, unless their home is in or within 30 minutes of Poplar Bluff.

We would like for you to join us and be a part of the Raider Excitement for the coming year. If you have any questions, please contact Cheri O. Ramsey at cramsey@trcc.edu, or 573-429-1280.
