Three Rivers College, Missouri State-West Plains to open South Central Education Consortium in January
Three Rivers College and Missouri State University-West Plains will open their new South Central Education Consortium in Willow Springs, Missouri for new student registration on January 7. Spring semester classes at the Consortium will begin on January 13. The Consortium will be located at 908 Springfield Road.
Three Rivers has hired Scott Williamson, a Willow Springs native, as the Director of its services at the Consortium. Williamson is a graduate of Andersonville Theological Seminary, and has served as pastor at First General Baptist Church in Willow Springs for the past 16 years.
"Vocational, technical, and career education has been the missing piece of education in Willow Springs," said Williamson. "This Consortium fills a huge void in our area. It will not only give members of the community access to job skills training, it will also create jobs in our area."
The Consortium was formed as a partnership between Three Rivers and Missouri State-West Plains to bring affordable, accessible higher education to the Willow Springs region. The Consortium will offer two-year technical degrees, short-term career certificates, developmental classes, and general education courses.
Courses offered in the Spring semester include blocks of Electrical Technician, HVAC/R, and Plumbing Technician courses; transitional English, reading, and math courses; and general education courses including Intro to Computers, Writing I, and College Algebra.
Students wanting to enroll in classes at the Consortium can search for classes online at trcc.edu, or can call the Consortium at 417-469-3000 starting January 7. Students with A+ scholarships are accepted. Registration also remains open for Three Rivers classes at all locations through January 10.
