Social work degree programs train students to help clients and patients improve their lives through therapy, government assistance, and social policy.
Bachelor's degree programs prepare students for jobs such as caseworker, residential counselor, and group home worker. Master's degree programs better prepare graduates to pursue a specific specialty area, as well as supervisory and clinical roles. Doctorate degree programs prepare graduates for careers in clinical supervision, research, and education.
Three Rivers offers Associate of Arts degrees with three pathways for Social Work; one for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university, one for transfer to the Hannibal-LaGrange University bachelor's completion program, and one for transfer to Southeast Missouri State University. The courses taken for these degrees should seamlessly transfer to the partner university.
The AA degree, Social Work pathway offers an affordable way to fulfill your general education requirements, expand your knowledge of this field, and explore the specialty you want to pursue. Three Rivers' class sizes are small, offering more personalized instruction than at a large university. The faculty hold advanced degrees in the specialties they teach.
