Honors Program

In keeping with the philosophy and mission of the College the Honors Program offers enhanced and advanced study to those students who show exceptional academic achievements and motivation.

Our Purpose

The purpose of honors classes is to provide an innovative, creative approach to learning in an atmosphere conducive to meeting the challenge to higher levels of academic excellence.

Admittance Requirements

An invitation to join the Honors Program is given to students who show academic aptitude with:

ACT Score

26 or higher in Math, Writing or Reading

ACCUPLACER WritePlacer Score

7 or higher or Reading score of 93 or higher

ACCUPLACER College Level Math Score

110 or higher

Others may apply by submitting an application that includes an ACT or ACCUPLACER score, a letter of recommendation from a high school counselor or teacher, and original brief essays describing the student’s academic and professional goals. An interview may be required.

Honors Credit for a Course

Students not enrolled in the honors program may choose, with instructor recommendation and with program director approval, to make application for an honors contract to earn honors status for that course.
