Deadline for moving emails and files

Preparing for multifactor authentication

Beginning July 6, Three Rivers students will be required to set up multifactor authentication on their TRC Office 365 accounts. Multifactor authentication enhances security by requiring users to provide a second verification method to gain access to their account.

You can set this up now or you will be prompted to do so the first time you log in on July 6 or after. To set up multifactor authentication, click your profile icon found in the top right corner of the Office 365 portal. Click "View Account," then click "Update info" in the "Security Info" card. You will be asked to provide a cell phone number or alternate email address.

When logging into Office 365, you will occasionally be asked to enter a code that will be sent to this alternate email address or cell phone number. This additional level of security is being implemented to help keep you and our systems safe.

FAQs on email migration:

How do I know whether I am using the correct Office 365 account?

On March 13, 2021, all student email addresses changed to oldmail.trcc.edu. Students who have registered for or attended classes after the 2018 Fall semester, along with older email addresses that have been active in the last 90 days, were given a new mymail.trcc.edu mailbox. If the email you are using ends with old.mail.trcc.edu and you match the criteria above, you need to move to your new mymail.trcc.edu account.

How do I log in to my new mymail.trcc.edu account?

See instructions below for “Accessing Your New mymail.trcc.edu Account and Its Office 365 Services”

I’ve moved to the new mymail.trcc.edu account but I don’t see the emails and files I saved before the change. What happened to them?

Email received in Outlook, files saved to OneDrive (including online versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and videos saved to Stream before March 13, 2021, are still in your oldmail.trcc.edu Office 365 account. You will need to move those you want to keep into your new mymail.trcc.edu account before July 6, 2021.

How do I move files from oldmail.trcc.edu to my new mymail.trcc.edu account?

Students are responsible for downloading a copy of their emails and files from their oldmail.trcc.edu Office 365 account and transferring them to their new mymail.trcc.edu account. This must be done before July 6, 2021. For instructions, visit these pages: How to download oldmail.trcc.edu OneDrive files and Ways to save emails from an oldmail.trcc.edu account

What do I do if my email syncs to my phone?
