Lady Raiders crowned Region XVI Champions, move on to NJCAA District K Championship

The Three Rivers College Lady Raiders basketball team defeated Moberly Area Community College 82-77 to become the Region XVI Champions on Sunday, March 3. The Lady Raiders are now 26-3 for the season.

The Lady Raiders will host Iowa Western Community College for the NJCAA District K Championship Friday, March 8, at 7 p.m. at the Libla Family Sports Complex on the Three Rivers campus. The cost to attend the game is $5. TRC employees and their families and students will receive free admission with their TRC IDs.

“We’re so proud of the way our team has performed this year,” said Lady Raiders Co-Head Coach Jeff Walk. “We hope the community comes out to cheer them on in the District K Championship on Friday. It’s going to be a great game to watch.”

“We’re asking everyone to wear gold in support of the Lady Raiders,” said Alex Wiggs, Co-Head Coach of the Lady Raiders. “We would love to see a ‘solid gold’ crowd.”

Three Rivers will have shuttle service running from TRC parking lots and the Westwood Center starting one hour before Friday’s game. Signs are posted at pick-up locations in the parking lots.

If the Lady Raiders win the District K Championship, they will move on to play in the National Tournament in Lubbock, Texas, March 18-23.
