Degree Program & Career AdvisingStudent Services advisors and the staff at our locations across Southeast Missouri are available to help you explore majors and careers.
The Advising Center has established relationships with most Missouri colleges and universities.
At a two-year college, a transfer program is a series of courses designed for students who wish to transfer into a Baccalaureate degree program at a four-year college or university. The courses are selected to be equivalent to the courses that would be taken at the four-year school and include all of the general education courses you need for the first two years at that school. The transfer programs (Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, and Associate of Arts in Teaching) are designed with maximum transferability in mind.
We have prepared Transfer Equivalencies and Articulation Agreements for most Missouri colleges and universities as well as several out-of-state schools. By following these agreements and equivalencies, which were designed by Three Rivers College and the receiving institution, you can be sure that you are taking the correct transfer classes.
As soon as you have selected a transfer school, you should contact an advisor at that institution. In this way, you can be sure that you completely understand and meet the admission and transfer requirements of the college or university you have selected. Transfer guides are wonderful tools in the planning process, but please remember, they are just tools and should not be considered a "contract." It is important that you stay in contact with your transfer institution so that you can be notified about changes that may not be reflected in the guides.
Visit the Welcome Center and the Advising Center for more information about transfer programs.
The Career Center has a variety of resources on various career and technical programs. Three Rivers College students may also enroll in a one credit hour course, entitled "Career Exploration," to explore career opportunities and prepare for the job market. This course is offered as a web course in both spring and fall semesters.
Student Job Opportunities
The Career Center, located in the Westover Administration Building, maintains updated listings of student employment opportunities, both entry-level and professional. These positions may be full-time or part-time and are usually located within the College service area. "Job Openings" are posted on College Central Network by employer request.
Students who are eligible for Financial Aid Work Study may check out the Work-Study page. Students are responsible for seeking out the jobs available and speaking to the College staff member in charge of the department.
For additional information, stop by the Welcome Center.
Businesses occasionally conduct employment interviews on the Three Rivers campus. Notices of these interviews will be posted on campus bulletin boards and the campus televisions. Interested students need to contact the Welcome Center to schedule an interview date and time.
