About the Show
Broadway Spotlight: An All-Star Celebration is an all-new concert event created exclusively for our audience. Produced and hosted by New York casting director Stephen DeAngelis, the evening brings together four accomplished Broadway performers to recreate memorable musical moments from classic and contemporary shows, showcase their versatility, share behind-the-scenes stories, and take part in an entertaining audience Q&A.
Scheduled performers include Broadway stars Emily Bautista, Todd Buonopane, Jon Peterson, and Ta-Tynisa Wilson, with Asher Denburg serving as musical director and accompanist.
The evening will feature selections from some of Broadway’s most beloved shows, including Hamilton, Cabaret, Les Misérables, Chicago, Miss Saigon, Frozen, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Guys and Dolls, Jesus Christ Superstar, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Singin’ in the Rain, Crazy for You, and more.
From showstopping performances to stories from behind the curtain, Broadway Spotlight offers theater lovers of all ages a chance to experience the talent, music, and magic of Broadway up close.
About the Cast
EMILY BAUTISTA is best known for her portrayal of Kim in Miss Saigon, both in the Broadway revival and on its national tour. She has also starred as Éponine in the international arena tour and North American touring production of Les Misérables. Other stage credits include the world premiere of Vanara: The Musical at London’s Hackney Empire and a developmental reading of the musical adaptation of Brave New World. Television audiences may recognize her as Elodie from HBO Max’s Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin.
TODD BUONOPANE is an actor, singer, and educator known as one of Broadway’s premier character actors. His Broadway credits include Jean-Michel in Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Roger in Grease, Amos Hart in Chicago, and multiple roles in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He has toured nationally with The Play That Goes Wrong, Godspell, and Chicago, and has performed at leading regional theaters across the country. His television credits include Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, BrainDead, Grey’s Anatomy, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and 30 Rock. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Buonopane is also a councilor for Actors’ Equity Association.
JON PETERSON starred as the Emcee in the Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of Cabaret, a role he also performed on national tour and around the world. His extensive stage career includes Off-Broadway appearances in George M. Cohan Tonight, Have a Heart, The George M. Cohan Revue, Irving Berlin in Person, and Half a Sixpence. Regional credits include Peter and the Starcatcher, Singin’ in the Rain, Sophisticated Ladies, The Rocky Horror Show, and A Chorus Line. Peterson has also appeared in numerous productions in London’s West End, including The Sound of Music, A Chorus Line, Cats, She Loves Me, and On Your Toes, as well as an extensive collection of film projects and recordings.
TA-TYNISA WILSON was most recently seen starring in the critically acclaimed New York premiere of Going Bacharach: Songs of an Icon. She made her Broadway debut in Hamilton: An American Musical, performing all three Schuyler sisters and later starring as Angelica Schuyler. She has also starred as Rachel Marron in The Bodyguard and Deena Jones in Goodspeed Opera House’s revival of Dreamgirls. Millions of viewers were introduced to Wilson as a finalist and fan favorite on Season 10 of American Idol. She has also performed around the world, sharing her powerful voice with audiences across the globe.
ASHER DENBURG (Musical Director/Accompanist) is a versatile and in-demand musician whose work has been heard on Broadway, national tours, cruise productions, concert stages, and beyond. His credits include serving as composer and music director for Jeff Ross: Take a Banana for the Ride and touring with A Beautiful Noise, Spamilton, and Cirque Musica Holiday Spectacular. His work as an orchestrator includes Shanghai Sonatas, Never Sleep Alone, and Bachelors of Broadway, along with projects for the Boston Pops and Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed in concert with Jackie Burns, Kennedy Caughell, Lisa Howard, Gavin Lee, Sis Thee Doll, Ben Jackson Walker, and many others.
STEPHEN DeANGELIS (Producer/Host) has produced, directed, and created more than 300 Broadway-themed concerts in New York and across the United States, featuring Tony and Drama Desk Award winners and nominees, television and film stars, and some of Broadway’s fastest-rising performers. He is also producer and host of At This Performance…, the acclaimed concert series that has showcased more than 1,400 Broadway and Off-Broadway standbys, understudies, and alternates since 2003.
Throughout his career, DeAngelis has worked with more than 100,000 performers across the entertainment industry. His extensive credits encompass theater, television, radio, casting, directing, and producing, including work on hundreds of theatrical productions and thousands of network television and radio commercials. His projects have included star-studded concert productions of Pippin, The Secret Garden, Into the Woods, Hair, and Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens. He has also directed the annual Oscar Hammerstein Awards honoring Broadway legends Bernadette Peters and Jerry Zaks.
A member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and the Association of Performing Arts Professionals, DeAngelis has staged musicals at major theaters across the country. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with an extraordinary roster of artists whose work has been recognized with Tony, Drama Desk, Emmy, Academy, Olivier, Grammy, Golden Globe, Pulitzer Prize, and Kennedy Center honors. He also lends his talents to numerous charitable organizations, including Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the Entertainment Community Fund.
