Alumni Awards

Three Rivers College has created two awards to honor former students and graduates who have excelled professionally and given back to the community. If you know someone who meets the criteria outlined below, please nominate them today.

Distinguished Alumni

The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor bestowed on alumni of Three Rivers College. Those eligible for recognition are former students/graduates of the College who have demonstrated significant achievements and earned high respect among their peers.

Alumni Star

The Three Rivers College Alumni Star Award is presented by Alumni & Friends to outstanding Three Rivers former students/graduates. It is extended in recognition of professional achievement, civic service, and service to the College, which therefore brings honor and distinction to Three Rivers College. Nominees may be individuals, couples, or a team/group.

Raider of the Year

The Raider of the Year Award is presented to a former Raider athlete who has achieved success beyond their sport and time at Three Rivers. Nominees remain involved on the athletics scene in their respective careers or volunteer efforts and are well-respected amongst their peers and in their communities.

Dusty Dinkins

Raider of the Year 2024

Dinkins has coached boys’ basketball for the past 20 years at South Iron High School and is the three-time defending Class 1 state champion and finished second in 2008. The Panthers have not lost more than five games in a season since 2018, and Dinkins entered the 2023-24 season with a 462-109 overall record.

Dr. Sonya DiCiro

Distinguished Alumni 2024

Dr. DiCiro spent her career serving patients in various diabetes education programs, hospice care, internal medicine, women’s healthcare, and many other roles. She was honored to receive the 2024 Daisy Award from Walden University as a DNP student.

Desma Reno

Alumni Star 2024

Reno was a faculty member at Southeast Missouri State University and retired in June 2020 as Professor Emerita in Nusing. Post-retirement, Reno is a Nurse consultant and certified instructor/trainer for Mental Health First Aid for youth and adult programs.

Dr. Ron Webb

Distinguished Alumni 2023

Webb is the Bishop for Mt. Calvary Powerhouse Church in Poplar Bluff, and founder of Heartland Family Center and Covenant Ministries. Webb is also a published author and former Raiders basketball player.

Samantha Gatewood Douglas

Alumni Star 2023

Douglas is a former Lady Raider basketball player and winner of the NJCAA Exemplary Academic Award. She also attended Arkansas State University and graduated with honors. Douglas works at Farm Credit Southeast Missouri.

Dr. Amy Rowland

Distinguished Alumni 2022

Rowland is the owner of Rowland Family Dentistry, a member of the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, Three Rivers Dental Society, and a former member of the Butler County Health Department Board.

Cindy-Lou Morgan

Alumni Star 2022
Morgan is a partner in Legacy Marketing and serves on the Three Rivers College Alumni Council. She is a Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce ambassador and Gateway to Leadership member, a volunteer with the Poplar Bluff Animal Shelter, and an active member of Palace of Praise Church of God.

Matthew Poole

Alumni Star 2021
Poole is the VP/Branch Manager of the Kennett Branch Office of Farm Credit Southeast Missouri. He began his career with the company as a loan officer in 2003, was promoted to senior loan officer in 2013, and promoted to his current position in 2017.

Rep. Todd Richardson

Distinguished Alumni 2019
Richardson, a Poplar Bluff native, currently serves as the Director of MO HealthNet. Prior to that appointment, he was Speaker of the House for the State of Missouri.

Christy Frazier-Moore

Alumni Star 2019
Frazier-Moore’s civic involvement includes being a member, past conference chair, and president of, Women Aware in Poplar Bluff; Founder of Chi and Co. that was created to help young girls in junior high reach their full potential.

Karon Campbell

Distinguished Alumni 2018
Campbell, who lives in Qulin, is a 1977 graduate of Three Rivers College. She earned an associate of applied science degree in business management.

Stan Berry

Distinguished Alumni 2017
Berry, who attended Three Rivers in 1968, was selected for the award by a committee of Three Rivers faculty, staff, and community members.

Erick Kirkman

Distinguished Alumni 2016
Kirkman, who is co-owner and co-founder of Kissinger & Kirkman Investment Centre, LLC, serves on the college’s Business Management Advisory Committee, is frequently a guest speaker for Three Rivers’ business classes, and is a major supporter of the Patrons of the Arts Society.

Larry DeWitt

Honored Alumni 2015
DeWitt credits Three Rivers College with giving him the opportunity to pursue higher education and the confidence to create a career in the horticulture field he loves.

Athletic Hall of Fame

The Three Rivers College Athletic Hall of Fame celebrates the history of excellence in Raiders athletics. Inductees are chosen by a committee based on their achievements as Three Rivers Raiders and beyond, and their contributions to athletic programs. They are honored at a banquet where they receive a ring, and a plaque on permanent display in the Libla Family Sports Complex. If you know a Raider who should be considered for the Hall of Fame, call the President’s Office, 573-840-9698.
