The Three Rivers College Paramedic Program is offered in a hybrid format, blending online coursework with in-person instruction. Students attend campus one day per week for skills training and high-fidelity simulation. The curriculum includes both general education and paramedic courses. Clinical internship experiences are scheduled at local healthcare facilities and are completed under the guidance of qualified preceptors.

Admission Criteria: One-Year-Certification

All candidates must meet the regular admission requirements as stated in the current catalog.
To become a paramedic applicant, individuals must:

• Have a program intake form on file in the Paramedic/Fire Science Office.
• Be a licensed EMT or AEMT.
• Have current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers status.
• Completion of ENGL-02 and READ-02 or placement into College Writing and completion of MATH-02 or placement into Mathematical Reasoning and Modeling.
• Subject to a confidential medical history, physical examination, negative preadmission drug screen, and clear criminal background check after acceptance in the program.

Paramedic courses begin each August. Students must meet all agency requirements for internship placement, including background checks, drug screening, and participation in random or for-cause drug testing as required.
