The governing power of Three Rivers is vested in a six-member Board of Trustees elected by the voters of the college district.

Three Rivers President Dr. Wesley Payne has more than twenty years of experience and has been with Three Rivers since July 2009.

History of Three Rivers College
Three Rivers College was founded April 5, 1966, when citizens of the Southeast Missouri counties of Butler, Carter, Ripley, and Wayne voted into existence the College District. The College opened in storefront facilities in downtown Poplar Bluff with 138 students in the summer of 1967.
Today, Three Rivers enrolls thousands of students at locations throughout Southeast Missouri, including an 80-acre campus in Poplar Bluff. Three Rivers offers a variety of programs at four full-service locations and at many area high schools.
