Two Three Rivers College students will benefit from the Sarah White Memorial Scholarship this fall. Receiving funds for the award, administered by the Three Rivers Endowment Trust, are Crystal Champion and Shilo Russell.
Champion is a 2017 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School. Pursuing a degree in education, she is the daughter of Jeremy and Jamie Champion of Poplar Bluff.
A graduate of Poplar Bluff High School, Russell is seeking a degree in elementary education.
The scholarship was established by friends and family of the late Sarah White, who died of cancer in 2012, to help her legacy live on. It is awarded annually to a Poplar Bluff High School graduate seeking a degree in education at Three Rivers College.
These scholarships represent some of the more than $60,000 awarded to students this fall by the Three Rivers Endowment Trust, a 501(c)(3) organization that receives and manages donations on behalf of Three Rivers College. The Endowment Trust provides a mutually beneficial means for individuals and businesses to partner with the College.
