For Spring Semester, Three Rivers College awarded scholarships to 12 students for outstanding academic achievement, as well as financial need. Three Rivers College has a number of established institutional and endowed scholarships which assist students in realizing their educational goals. These scholarships are administered through the Three Rivers Endowment Trust (TRET), the recognized 501(c)(3) fundraising partner for the College.
William and Martha Mallard Scholarship:
Lauren Crossen of Poplar Bluff has received the William and Martha Mallard Scholarship to attend Three Rivers College. Crossen is the daughter of Lacey San Miguel of Neelyville and Mark Crossen of Poplar Bluff. She is a 2017 graduate of Neelyville R-4 and plans to study Biological Sciences while at Three Rivers.
Keiarra Lee of Wappapello has received the William and Martha Mallard Scholarship to attend Three Rivers College. Lee is the daughter of Teresa and Tom Mannon and James Lee, all of Poplar Bluff. She is a 2017 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School and plans to major in Biology at Three Rivers.
Samantha Porter of Doniphan has received the William and Martha Mallard Scholarship to attend Three Rivers College. Porter is pursuing a degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Mathematics.
The William and Martha Mallard Scholarship was endowed by Martha Mallard and her late husband, William, to be awarded to a full-time Three Rivers student seeking an associate degree in math or science.
Norma Hufstedler Endowed Scholarship:
Stephanie Thomas of Fairdealing is the recipient of the Norma Hufstedler Endowed Scholarship to attend Three Rivers College. Thomas is working toward an associate degree in applied science and to complete the Nursing program at Three Rivers College. She is a graduate of the Doniphan R-1 School System.
The Norma Hufstedler Endowed Scholarship gives first preference to a student who is a veteran from the Doniphan R-1 school system and seeking a degree in Math, Science, or Engineering. Second preference is for a student in the Doniphan R-1 school system and seeking a degree in Education or Nursing.
Harry & Ida Blue Memorial Scholarship:
Shilo Russell of Poplar Bluff has received the Harry & Ida Blue Memorial Scholarship to attend Three Rivers College. Russell plans to major in Elementary Education while at Three Rivers.
Samuel Phillips of Poplar Bluff has received the Harry & Ida Blue Memorial Scholarship to attend Three Rivers College. Phillips plans to major in Elementary Education while at Three Rivers.
Madison Kacynski of Fisk has received the Harry & Ida Blue Memorial Scholarship to attend Three Rivers College. Kacynski plans to major in Elementary Education while at Three Rivers.
Madison Copeland of Poplar Bluff has received the Harry & Ida Blue Memorial Scholarship to attend Three Rivers College. Copeland is the daughter of Daniel and Tricia Copeland of Poplar Bluff. She is a 2017 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School and plans to major in Elementary Education while at Three Rivers.
The Harry & Ida Blue Memorial Scholarship is earmarked for students who attended a Butler County high school and are pursuing a degree in elementary or secondary education.
Joda Bess Memorial Scholarship:
Hailey Martin of Corning, Arkansas, has received the Joda Bess Memorial Scholarship to attend Three Rivers College. Martin is seeking an Associate of Arts in Teaching – Elementary Education degree while at Three Rivers.
The Joda Bess Memorial Scholarship is intended to provide assistance to students with extraordinary financial needs and is renewable.
Kay Porter Memorial Scholarship:
Justin Harris of St. Louis, Missouri, has received the Kay Porter Memorial Scholarship for the 2018 Spring semester at Three Rivers College. Harris is a 2017 graduate of Brentwood High School and is the son of Arris Harris and Chanell Woodson Harris. He is majoring in theatre while attending Three Rivers.
Nicholas McNeal of Naylor has received the Kay Porter Memorial Scholarship for the 2018 Spring semester at Three Rivers College. McNeal is a 2017 graduate of Naylor R-II High School and is the son of Crystal and David McNeal. McNeal is a Pre-Engineering student.
Edward Isom of Hayti has received the Kay Porter Memorial Scholarship for the 2018 Spring semester at Three Rivers College. Isom is majoring in business administration.
The Kay Porter Memorial Scholarship Fund was endowed by the late Kay Porter, whose estate benefited many entities. Scholarships from the fund are earmarked for students majoring in Pre-Engineering, Theatre, and Business Administration.
