Cindy-Lou Morgan of Poplar Bluff has been named this year’s Three Rivers College Alumni Star. She will be honored at the Alumni Reunion festivities on January 22, including a reception that day.

“Cindy has been an energetic volunteer and engaged alumnus,” said Michelle Reynolds, Director of Development at Three Rivers. “She never hesitates to become involved in an event or provide feedback for a new initiative.”

The Alumni Star award was created to showcase up-and-comers who got their start at Three Rivers College. Recipients are chosen based on their civic and professional involvement, and their lasting connection to Three Rivers College.

“Cindy has been a part of several College events in recent history,” said Dr. Wesley Payne, President of Three Rivers College. “She has volunteered her time and talents to help support our initiatives, and we are proud to honor her with this year’s award.”

A 2013 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School, Morgan earned her associate degree in Speech Communications from Three Rivers in 2015 and graduated in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Hannibal-LaGrange University.

“I’m a proud Three Rivers alumni and enjoy being an active member of the community, volunteering my time or knowledge wherever I can,” said Morgan.

She is currently a partner in Legacy Marketing, a digital marketing agency in the Poplar Bluff area working with local businesses to improve their marketing campaigns. Cindy and her husband, David, will celebrate their ninth anniversary this spring.

Morgan serves on the Three Rivers College Alumni Council, is a Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce ambassador and Gateway to Leadership member, a volunteer with the Poplar Bluff Animal Shelter, and an active member of Palace of Praise Church of God.

Morgan has asked that any honorary contributions be earmarked to scholarships for Three Rivers College students.

The reception for Morgan will begin at 3 p.m. January 22 at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the Poplar Bluff Campus, with the award presentation taking place at 3:30 p.m. To RSVP, contact Michelle Reynolds, michellereynolds@trcc.edu or 573-840-9077. All are welcome, and TRC team wear attire is appropriate to attend the games which follow.

Morgan will also be honored during Alumni Reunion basketball games beginning at 5 p.m. January 22 at the Libla Family Sports Complex. For this event, TRC alumni and former students receive free admission to the Lady Raiders basketball game at 5 p.m. and the Raiders game at 7 p.m.
