Three Rivers College recently established the Nicole M. Hall Scholarship for Practical Nursing with the Three Rivers Endowment Trust, with the first award available this fall.
The Nicole M. Hall Scholarship for Practical Nursing will be awarded annually to a student enrolled in the Sikeston PN Program. Eligible students must be in their final semester of the program and demonstrate financial need. It was created by Nicole “Michelle” Hall and her husband, Steve, of East Prairie. Hall is a graduate of Three Rivers College, and currently serves as an associate professor of nursing for the LPN-to-RN Bridge program at TRC-Sikeston.
“Going through the program as a non-traditional student with a young son, I was grateful for the support I received from my husband allowing me to focus all of my energy on school,” said Hall. “The financial burden can take so much away from your family, and to have the ability to lessen that burden just a little brings me great joy. This is my way of paying it forward through the program where I got my start.”
This year’s recipient is Toni Boyd of Miner.
“I am very thankful for receiving this scholarship to help me on my journey of becoming a nurse,” Boyd said. “I was so surprised that I was chosen but I am overwhelmed with joy.”
