Three Rivers College is now offering a Surgical Technology program to help meet local employment needs for healthcare providers and to train students to meet those needs.
The application deadline for the new Surgical Technology program at Three Rivers is Dec. 1.
The Surgical Technology program is designed to prepare you to become an entry-level Surgical Technologist with the knowledge, skills, and behavior needed to excel. Both general education and surgical technology courses are included in this program. Clinical laboratory experiences are planned in local healthcare facilities under the direct guidance of the Surgical Technology faculty.
During this program, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of the surgical environment, infection control, sterilization techniques, and patient care. You will also learn to anticipate the needs of surgeons, prepare the operating room, and assist in surgical procedures, all while ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
Upon successful completion of the Surgical Technology program, you will have access to many career opportunities. You can work in hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, and clinics. Surgical technologists are also in high demand in trauma care, obstetrics, and cardiovascular surgery.
The Three Rivers Surgical Technology program can open the door to a financially rewarding profession that makes a difference in the lives of patients.
