Three Rivers College is dedicated to promoting the health, safety, and well-being of its students and employees. Depression and suicide prevention is the purpose of this page. The College has a Policy (GAP 1207) along with comprehensive information that is provided through community resources as it relates to depression and suicide prevention. This information also serves to further our commitment in accordance with Mo. Senate Bill no. 52 of the 99th General Assembly.

Suicide is known to be a leading cause of death for college students. In addition, suicide, attempted suicide, and threatened suicide have a significant detrimental effect, not only on the individual involved, but on others in the campus community. The College has established a Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) to provide a systematic response to identify students whose behavior is of concern in order to support student success and to assist in protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the students and members of the College community.

Ask. Listen. Refer.

All members of the Three Rivers College community are asked to contribute to our campus culture of care by learning to actively recognize, respond, refer, and report persons of concern. For more information and community resources, visit Ask. Listen. Refer.

Anonymous Online Reporting

The College provides easily-accessible/anonymous online reporting. All members of the College community share in the responsibility to learn to recognize, respond, refer, and report when behaviors of concern are witnessed, including behaviors that may indicate an individual is suicidal.
