Three Rivers College awarded the Dede Lawson Memorial Scholarship to Lara Hafford and Kylie Reed (Shockley) during the Fall 2021 semester.

This scholarship was established in the memory of Dede Lawson, a 1979 graduate of Three Rivers College. She spent her life working in the nursing field until she passed away at the age of 49 after being diagnosed with cancer.

Reed, a 2021 graduate of Van Buren High School, is majoring in nursing. She also received the Achievement Scholarship and is the granddaughter of Lyn and Don Reed of Van Buren.

The Achievement Scholarship is awarded to outstanding high school seniors who rank in the top 25% in their graduating class or score at least a 21 composite on the ACT.
