Center Stage, the Three Rivers College community theater group, will perform “The Wizard of Oz” at 7 p.m. March 6, 7, 13, and 14, and 2 p.m. March 7, 8, 14, 15 in the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the Three Rivers campus.

Carlie Dillinger, director of last year’s “Alice in Wonderland,” directs this musical based on the classic film about Dorothy’s adventures over the rainbow and the magical power of home. The cast is joined by special performers from The Dance Company.

“Our production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ features a diverse group of talented individuals from the community,” said Dillinger. “Everyone is working extremely hard to pay tribute to such an iconic show. It’s a story that holds meaning to fans of all ages. I am thankful for the opportunity to bring one of my favorite stories to life with the help of fantastic people.”

The production includes the songs “Over The Rainbow,” “Munchkinland (Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead),” “If I Only Had A Brain/A Heart/The Nerve,” “We’re Off To See The Wizard (Follow The Yellow Brick Road),” “The Jitterbug,” and “The Merry Old Land of Oz, “Poppies (Optimistic Voices),” and “If I Were King Of The Forest.”

“We have our largest ever Center Stage cast performing ‘The Wizard of Oz.’ This is going to be an amazing show,” said Robert Abney, Director of the Tinnin Fine Arts Center. “You would have to travel to a large market to see a show of this quality and size, but you can see it here for a much lower ticket price.”
