Three Rivers College has announced the appointment of Deanna Harris as the new Director of External Locations in Sikeston and Dexter.

A lifelong advocate for education, Harris brings more than 22 years of experience in both K–12 and higher education to the role. She began her career in Sikeston as one of the founding teachers at The Christian Academy, where she taught for two years, before spending nine years with Sikeston Public Schools. She later continued her educational career in central Arkansas.

After returning to Southeast Missouri, Harris joined Southeast Missouri State University, where she served in the Admissions Department, helping students navigate the path to higher education.

A Dexter native and graduate of Dexter High School, Harris said returning to serve the communities that helped shape her is especially meaningful.

“It is exciting to come back and serve the very communities where I have such strong roots,” Harris said. “I also look forward to continuing to partner with Southeast Missouri State University as we serve students throughout our region.”

As Director of External Locations, Harris will oversee operations and community engagement for Three Rivers College – Sikeston and Three Rivers College – Dexter, working closely with students, local school districts, businesses, and community organizations to expand educational opportunities and strengthen workforce development throughout Southeast Missouri.

She succeeds Missy Marshall, who retired in May 2026 after years of dedicated service to Three Rivers and the surrounding communities.

“I have so me very big shoes to fill, as Missy was a key part of this community,” Harris said. “I look forward to the relationships that will be built with local businesses and the community as we continue to partner with one another to provide a solid educational foundation for our area students. These external locations are vital to the growth and expansion of businesses and services that will be used right here in Southeast Missouri.”

As she begins her new role, Harris remains committed to making higher education accessible and responsive to the needs of area students, families, employers, and community partners, ensuring that Three Rivers continues to be a valuable resource for the communities it serves.
