Three Rivers College recently awarded the Alan Gregory Nagy Memorial Scholarship to nursing student Christian Scott for the spring 2025 semester. Nagy graduated Three Rivers College in May.
The scholarship was funded by the family Alan Gregory Nagy as a one-time award for a Poplar Bluff High School student pursuing a degree in Nursing.
Nagy graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1987 and earned a scholarship to play football for the University of Missouri at Rolla. He was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve, earned his Associate of Arts degree in nursing from Three Rivers, and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeast Missouri State University. In his nursing career, he cared for patients at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff and worked for a time in pharmaceutical sales. He was a former member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Three Rivers students receive more than $13 million in financial aid each year, and all students are automatically considered for more than 280 scholarships by completing the application for admission and submitting their FAFSA. For more information, trcc.edu/pay-for-college/financial-aid/.
