Three Rivers College has created the Dylan James Miller Memorial Scholarship.
The annual award, beginning in Fall 2023, will provide financial assistance to a student enrolled in a Diesel Technology program at Three Rivers College. Miller’s family helped create the endowment to honor Miller, who had a passion for working on cars before he passed away in 2021 at the age of 21.
His dream was to become a Certified Diesel Mechanic, and he would have been starting classes later that year.
“If we can help somebody, and bring some goodness out of a tragedy, this is the way to do it,” said Kim Miller, who started this scholarship to honor her son. “Even though Dylan was not able to realize his dream, we want to make sure others have the opportunity to realize theirs.”
The scholarship will be administered by the Three Rivers Endowment Trust.
“We are honored that Dylan’s family chose to create a scholarship to honor his memory,” said Michelle Reynolds, Executive Director of the Three Rivers Endowment Trust. “This will go a long way to helping our Diesel Technology students with tuition, fuel, tools, and many other things.”
