Three Rivers College is finding new ways to honor its graduates after making the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 commencement ceremony.

The College provided e-announcements for graduates to send to their family and friends, is asking graduates to submit photos for a Facebook album, and is honoring graduates throughout the week of May 11 – 15 on social media.

The College is asking the community to join them in honoring 2020 graduates by hanging black and gold ribbons in their yards or on their porches or front doors.

“Colleges and universities across the state are hanging ribbons in their college colors to honor their 2020 graduates,” said Ann Matthews, Dean of Student Services. “We thought this was another way to show our graduates how proud we are of them and their accomplishments.”

2020 graduates also will be honored at the 2021 commencement ceremony and are invited to walk at that ceremony.

Three Rivers College is committed to contributing to the quality of life in Southeast Missouri with quality, affordable higher education opportunities and community services that support and encourage the economic, civic, and cultural vitality of the region.
