Davine Conover has been named this year’s Three Rivers College Alumni Star. She will be honored at a reception from 4–6 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Westwood Center in Poplar Bluff. The Alumni Star award presentation will be at 5 p.m.

To RSVP, contact Michelle Reynolds at 573-840-9077 or michellereynolds@trcc.edu.

Conover brings more than 40 years of professional experience in education, business, community engagement, and public speaking. Her workshops cover financial literacy, customer service, workplace mentoring, time management, and fraud prevention.

What began as a commitment to helping students develop financial literacy and recognize fraud has grown into a comprehensive educational outreach program serving people of all ages. Her workshops now include practical life skills, professional development, and financial education designed to help individuals make informed decisions.

Through her involvement with Downtown Poplar Bluff, Conover collaborated with fellow community volunteers and local leaders on projects including the development of the Downtown Dog Park and the coordination of Poplar Bluff Cruise-In Nights. These efforts reflect her commitment to teamwork, community partnerships, and creating opportunities that bring people together.

Working with local high schools, she helped bring Reality Fairs to students, teaching financial literacy and demonstrating the importance of budgeting and making informed financial decisions. She is also an active member of Memorial Baptist Church, where she serves through its women’s and children’s ministries along with volunteering at several local non-profits.

“I am deeply honored to be recognized as a Three Rivers College Alumni Star,” Conover said. “Three Rivers gave me more than an education; it gave me eight years of meaningful work in financial aid and advising, helped me recognize my passion for financial literacy, and prepared me to continue serving our region through my work with Ozark Federal Credit Union across the 25 counties that we serve.”

Conover is a 1982 graduate of Sikeston High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Hannibal-LaGrange College in 2010.

Conover’s educational journey didn’t follow a straight path. She returned to college as an adult while married, raising two teenage boys, working full-time, and running her own business.

“The thought of adding college classes to that already full life was not only challenging, it was scary,” Conover said.

Her coworkers at Three Rivers encouraged her and cheered her on as she pursued and earned her bachelor’s degree through the Hannibal-LaGrange program at Three Rivers College.

Three Rivers has been a part of Conover’s family for generations. Her cousin, Michael Price, a retired Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, taught ethics when the College was still located downtown. Her husband, David, attended Three Rivers and built a career serving others in the mental health field. He also served as a part-time adjunct instructor in the College’s psychology department. Both of their sons, Caleb and Joshua, attended Three Rivers and have successful careers in public service, as have their daughters-in-law, Julie and Whitney.

“Three Rivers did not contribute to the success of only one person in our family. It helped shape my whole family’s commitment to serving others,” Conover said. “The College is invaluable to our communities, developing the skilled employees, engaged citizens, and future leaders who strengthen both our workforce and our regional economy. I am grateful that God has used these two remarkable institutions — Three Rivers College and Ozark Federal Credit Union — to shape my journey and allow me to live out my calling to educate, encourage, and serve others.”
