Three Rivers College is now accepting nominations for its 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award and, new this year, its Alumni Star Award.
The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor bestowed on alumni of Three Rivers College. Those eligible for recognition are former students and graduates of the College who have demonstrated significant achievements and earned high respect among their peers.
This year, Three Rivers created the Alumni Star Award to be presented by Alumni & Friends. This new award will be extended in recognition of professional achievement, civic service, and service to the College. Nominees may be individuals, couples, or a team/group.
The Distinguished Alumni award will be given at a recognition reception hosted by the College in spring 2020, and the Alumni Star Award will be presented at the Alumni Reunion in early 2020.
The nomination deadline for both awards is October 4. Nominations can be submitted at trcc.edu/awards.
“Our Distinguished Alumni Award has become a highly anticipated honor to recognize outstanding former Three Rivers students,” said Michelle Reynolds, Director of Development at Three Rivers. “It’s always fun to see the nominations for the award, as there are so many alumni who give back in various ways to their community and Three Rivers.”
“We’re also excited this year to announce our Alumni Star Award,” said Reynolds. “It gives us another opportunity to recognize a worthy alumni. This new award will focus on those who are rising stars in their profession and their community.”
Reynolds noted that nominations submitted in previous years may be resubmitted for consideration for the 2020 award.
Nominations can be submitted by going to trcc.edu/awards and filling out the form provided there. Forms may also be mailed upon request. Nominees should be a graduate from or former student of Three Rivers College and will be judged on the merits of their personal and professional achievements. A committee drawn from College employees and the Three Rivers Endowment Trust will choose the winning nominations.
The 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award was awarded to former Speaker of the House for the State of Missouri, Todd Richardson, a Poplar Bluff native who currently serves as the Director of MO HealthNet. Richardson also served as the keynote speaker at the College’s 2019 Commencement ceremony.
