Fifteen Three Rivers College students were awarded funds this spring from the Harry & Ida Blue Memorial Scholarship, administered by the Three Rivers Endowment Trust.

The recipients include:

  • Subrina Berger of Poplar Bluff. Berger is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. She is a 1986 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School. She is married to Christopher Berger and is the daughter of Glenda Forbes and Gerald Robison of Poplar Bluff.
  • Crystal Champion of Poplar Bluff. Champion is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. She is a 2017 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School and is the daughter of Jim R. and Mary L. Champion of Poplar Bluff.
  • Madison Copeland of Poplar Bluff. Copeland is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. She is a 2017 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School and is the daughter of Tricia McClain of Poplar Bluff and Daniel Copeland of Puxico.
  • Sierra Fuller of Poplar Bluff. Fuller is pursing a degree in Education. She is a 2012 graduate of Naylor High School. She is engaged to Trent Welborn and is the daughter of Dawn Fuller of Poplar Bluff and Tom Fuller of Paragould, Arkansas.
  • Leah Faith Jackson of Poplar Bluff. Jackson is a 2018 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School. She is pursing a degree in Elementary Education and is the daughter of Doug and Angie Jackson of Poplar Bluff.
  • Malinda Jeffries of Neelyville. Jeffries is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. She is a 1994 graduate of Neelyville High School. She is married to Chris Jeffries and is the daughter of Steve and Patsy Womack of Poplar Bluff.
  • Cherish Maxwell of Poplar Bluff. Maxwell is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. She is a 2014 graduate of East Carter High School and is the daughter of Marlena and William Maxwell of Grandin.
  • Ashlee Qualls of Doniphan. Qualls is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. She is a 2012 graduate of Branson High School. She is married to Jody Qualls and is the daughter of Jennifer Norman of Sedalia.
  • Taylor Rice of Poplar Bluff. Rice is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. She is a 2017 graduate of Twin Rivers High School and is the daughter of Samantha Porch of Poplar Bluff.
  • Savanah Weitzel of Poplar Bluff. Weitzel is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. She is a 2015 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School and is the daughter of Bruce and Genia Weitzel of Poplar Bluff.

The Harry & Ida Blue Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students seeking degrees in elementary or secondary education.

These scholarships represent some of the more than $85,000 awarded to students during the 2018-2019 academic year by the Three Rivers Endowment Trust, a 501(c)(3) organization that receives and manages donations on behalf of Three Rivers College. The Endowment Trust provides a mutually beneficial means for individuals and businesses to partner with the College.
