Three Rivers College will host the HiSET® High School Equivalence Test at its Kennett location on Saturday, October 16, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The registration period for this test closes on October 14.
“Three Rivers’ campus in Poplar Bluff normally offers the HiSET® test one Saturday each month,” said Diane Patterson, Coordinator of the Testing Services at Three Rivers College. “We’re offering this so that people in surrounding areas can have a chance to take the HiSET® closer to home.”
Three Rivers – Kennett is located at 1002 Great West Dr. in Kennett.
The HiSET® is an online test taken at a certified test center. Tests cover writing, essay, math, science, social studies, and reading. Once the test has been scheduled, it must be completed in its entirety within a 12-month period. The test can only be taken three times in a calendar year.
The full battery of tests cost $98. The individual subtest costs are as follows:
- Computer-delivered tests: $17.75 ($10.75 ETS fee and $7 test center administration fee).
- A $10 state administration fee will be charged when you register for your first subtest. This is an annual fee and will be collected once every 12 months.
- You will receive two retests per subtest purchased.
- If you need to retake a subtest you must pay the $7 test center fee.
Please log in to your HiSET account or call ETS Customer Service at 1-855-MyHiSET (1-855-694-4738) for more information.
Those interested in taking HiSET® classes before the test should contact the Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Office in West Plains at 417-255-7744 to leave a message or email WPAEL@missouristate.edu.
“Students are not required to take classes before taking the test, but it could be beneficial in passing the test the first time around,” said Patterson. “There is an abundance of information on the hiset.ets.org website including test overviews, practice tests, and information on creating your account.”
