The Three Rivers Endowment Trust will host a Murder Mystery Dinner this fall to benefit their partnership with the Boys & Girls Club. Presented by The Bank of Missouri, “The Death of Dr. Pepper” will take place at 7 p.m., October 29 at the Holiday Inn of Poplar Bluff.

“The College Kids program is a successful partnership between Three Rivers College, the Boys & Girls Club, and TRET,” said Michelle Reynolds, Executive Director of the Three Rivers Endowment Trust. “We want to continue to offer these courses at no cost to the BGC students, and decided a Murder Mystery dinner would be a fun, unique way to raise the annual funds associated with the program.”

The total cost of the program is approximately $5,000, which covers the instructors’ salaries and materials needed for the courses. With recent updates, students can complete more than 20 college hours by the time they graduate high school.

Robbie Toth-Cosby, Executive Boys & Girls Club Director, organized this program four years ago with seven students enrolled. Today, more than 30 teens are enrolled from three different school districts.

“I never imagined that this program would grow as fast as it has, giving our youth new opportunities to jump-start their future,” Toth-Cosby said. “These teens are the future of the Heartland and I can’t wait to watch their careers take off.”

Doors for the Murder Mystery Dinner open at 5:30 p.m. October 29, with the buffet-style dinner prepared by Tasteful Creations beginning at 6 p.m., and the performance will start at 7 p.m. Business casual attire is suggested.

The show is being directed by Michael Malone, who is an assistant professor of Information Systems Technology at Three Rivers College and has been involved in Poplar Bluff theater for more than 20 years as an actor, director, stage manager, and sound director.

Tickets are $50 each. Sponsorships are available, and more details are available online at trcc.edu/events. Community members may also get involved by donating to the wine or bourbon pull attractions planned at the event.
