Three Rivers College is currently accepting nominations for its 2023 Distinguished Alumni and Alumni Star Awards.

The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor bestowed on alumni of Three Rivers College. Those eligible for recognition are former students and graduates of the College who have demonstrated significant achievements and earned high respect among their peers.

Dr. Amy Rowland was awarded the 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award. Dr. Rowland graduated from Poplar Bluff High School in 1996, and then enrolled in the Three Rivers College Nursing Program, which qualified her to pursue a degree in dentistry. “Our Distinguished Alumni Award has become a highly anticipated honor to recognize outstanding former Three Rivers students,” said Michelle Reynolds, Director of Development at Three Rivers. “It’s always fun to see the nominations for the award, as there are so many alumni who give back in various ways to their community and Three Rivers.”

The Alumni Star Award, established in 2020, is presented to outstanding former Three Rivers students and graduates who attended the College within the past 15 years. This award is extended in recognition of professional achievement, civic service, and service to the College. Nominees may be individuals, couples, or a team/group. Previous winners of the Alumni Star Award are Cindy-Lou Morgan, Matthew Poole, and Christy Frazier-Moore.

Morgan is a 2013 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School. She earned her associate’s degree in Speech Communications from Three Rivers in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Hannibal-LaGrange University. She is currently a partner in Legacy Marketing, a digital marketing agency in Poplar Bluff.

“We’re also excited to have our Alumni Star Award,” said Reynolds. “It gives us another opportunity to recognize a worthy alumnus. This prestigious award will focus on those who are rising stars in their profession and their community.”

The Distinguished Alumni Award will be given at a recognition reception hosted by the College in the spring of 2023, and the Alumni Star Award will be presented at the Alumni Reunion in February.

The nomination deadline for both awards is October 28. Nominations can be submitted at trcc.edu/alumni. Nominations submitted in previous years may be resubmitted for consideration for the 2023 award.

Nominees should be a graduate or former student of Three Rivers College and will be judged on the merits of their personal and professional achievements. A committee drawn from College employees and the Three Rivers Endowment Trust will choose the winning nominations.
