You can start working in an accounting office now with a two-year accounting degree and pursue a bachelor’s degree to become a CPA while you work.

Do you enjoy spreadsheets, budgets, payroll, taxes and how to make all of these items work together? These are things staff accountants work on every day. A degree in Accounting Technology is the first step to making that career change.

Program Purpose

The Certificate of Accounting provides a basic knowledge of accounting principles combined with computer skills necessary for advancement in the field of accounting. The Certificate of Accounting will apply toward the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Accounting Technology. It could also be beneficial for persons with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Office Administration, Medical Billing and Coding or Business Management. It also provides the additional courses required by Central Methodist University as part of the Bachelor’s in Accountancy.
