Three Rivers College invites the community to its Lighting the Tree of Hope and Remembrance event.
Lighting the Tree of Hope and Remembrance will be at 6 p.m. Nov. 21 in the Tinnin Fine Arts Center lobby at Three Rivers College. The Tree of Hope and Remembrance will honor those in our community who we have lost to suicide and overdose, and to celebrate those in recovery. Guests are welcome to create an ornament for your friend or loved one for this special tree, listen to stories of hope, and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies.
“For those who have lost loved ones to these issues, and for those in addiction or recovery, the holidays are an especially triggering time of year,” Reynolds said. “The Tree of Hope and Remembrance will serve as a symbol of support for our community to show respect and honor lives lost, as well as cheer on those who are fighting the fight of substance use and mental health recovery.”
This event is free and open to the public, and is brought to you by the Behavioral Health Support program at Three Rivers College and our community partners: FCC Behavioral Health, Fellowship of Acceptance, Fellowship Church, Missouri Highlands Healthcare, and SEMO Behavioral Health.
Three Rivers is also hosting a Survivors of Suicide Loss Day event from 12-2:30 p.m. Nov. 23 in room 105 of the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center. The event is an opportunity for survivors of suicide loss to come together to find connection, understanding, and hope through their shared experiences.
