In keeping with the mission of the College, Testing Services helps support the institutional mission of the College by promoting the intellectual growth of students and members of the community outside the formal setting of regular course work.
Along with providing high quality testing and assessment services, we subscribe to the NCTA Professional Standards and Guidelines in order to meet the growing needs of our students, faculty, administration and community.

Testing Services is located on the first floor of the Westover Administration Building on the Poplar Bluff campus. Please note that if the College is closed (for inclement weather or holidays) Testing Services is also closed and tests will be rescheduled.

Tests Offered Through Three Rivers
Testing Services administers a number of different tests ranging from the HiSET exam for those looking to complete their high school equivalency, to high-stakes certification exams.
Although Three Rivers no longer administers the Accuplacer test, in its place we offer the Guided Self-Placement Questionnaire. Like the Accuplacer, the questionnaire can be taken on any electronic device where Internet access is available. A brief description of the services offered are listed below.
Three Rivers College Guided Self-Placement Questionnaire
The guided self-placement process for English, math, and reading allows a prospective student to rate the level of comfort with math problems, English concepts, and reading passages. Prospective students will receive feedback from an advisor on the appropriate courses needed after the completion of the questionnaire. This process considers a student’s capabilities, history, and life experiences while considering career goals, program options, and career expectations. The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a series of exams students can take to earn college-equivalent credit. Three Rivers offers a number of different exams for credit. Please consult the College catalog for a list of current CLEP-eligible subject exams. CLEP is given on computer by appointment only. These are 1.5-hour exams. All CLEP exam fees must be paid by the candidate online through the CLEP Account Portal link above. Candidates must also pay the proctor fee prior to scheduling the appointment.
CLEP EXAMS WITH REMOTE PROCTORING NOW AVAILABLE
We’re excited to announce that at-home CLEP® exams with remote proctoring are now available. Remote proctoring allows students to take an exam online while a human proctor monitors them via video.
At-home exams will be administered by Proctortrack, CLEP’s remote proctoring partner that specializes in verifying the identity of online test takers while detecting and deterring academic misconduct. Proctortrack will serve as the sole provider of remote-proctored CLEP exams to ensure consistency in registration, scheduling, and administration in a secure online environment.
Equipment and Environment
Students must have a PC computer or laptop (no Macs), an internal/external speaker and microphone, a camera, and, if taking notes during the exam, a white board with a dry erase marker or one sheet of paper in a transparent sheet protector with a dry erase marker. They must also be alone in a private room.

Proctored correspondence exams for other institutions are done through Testing Services by appointment only. Candidates must pay the proctor fee prior to scheduling the appointment. Students attending a Missouri Community College do not have to pay the proctor fee.

The HESI A2 RN Entrance Exam is designed to assess a student’s academic and personal readiness for higher education in a healthcare-related field, such as nursing. The test is an internet-based, timed, multiple choice test evaluating your knowledge in the following content areas:
- Reading Comprehension
- Grammar
- Vocabulary and Knowledge
- Math
Applicants have only two attempts to take the HESI A2 RN Entrance Exam each application window.

LPN-RN Bridge Exam
If you are applying to Three Rivers LPN-RN Bridge program, you must first take the HESI A2 RN Entrance Exam prior to taking the HESI LPN-RN Bridge Entrance Exam. Once you have completed and passed the HESI A2 RN Entrance Exam with a minimum composite score requirement of 75%, you will then be provided information from the Three Rivers Nursing Department about registering and paying the test and proctoring fees for the HESI LPN-RN Bridge (ADN) Entrance Exam, along with the payment ID needed to access the exam.
The HESI LPN-RN Bridge (ADN) Entrance Exam is a 75-item comprehensive exam designed to be taken by currently Licensed Practical/Vocational nurses seeking entrance into an Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program. The exam identifies strengths in PN/VN content areas, and the possible need for remediation prior to entrance into an ADN program. Measures competencies across PN/VN content areas, including:
- Fundamentals • Pediatric Nursing
- Maternity • Professional Issues
- Medical-Surgical • Psychiatric/Mental Illness

HiSET Exam at Home: Learn more about taking the HiSET test from home on your own computer (restrictions apply) follow the link above. Availability is 15 hours a day, seven days a week.
The HiSET® exam is a comprehensive online high school equivalency test. It is accepted anywhere in the country. The entire exam or any number of individual subject areas may be taken in one sitting, but only three attempts are allowed for each subject in a calendar year. Scores will appear on the screen immediately upon completion of each subject, except for the written portion. There is no waiting period between dates. Test time is 5 to 7 hours for the entire test (5 subtests). A valid Missouri photo ID is required to take the test, and there is a 24-hour deadline prior to test date to register. For more information; practice tests; and to register, schedule, and pay for the exams, go to hiset.ets.org.
To request your official transcript click here. You will be required to enter the last four digits of your Social Security number, date of birth, full last name, and first initial of your first name. This is the only way to access an official copy. Employers and colleges/universities must go to this site with the above information to confirm your qualifications.
Missouri General Education Assessment (MoGEA) Exam
Register for a face-to-face test at Missouri General Education Assessment (MoGEA).
To test any time from your own computer (restrictions apply), register for a remote online proctored test at MoGEA Remote Test.
The MoGEA (Missouri General Education Assessment) is a graduation requirement for anyone seeking an Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT). You will be tested over Essay, English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. The entire exam is approximately 5½ hours; retesting is 1-hour per subject. The entire exam can only be taken one time. After the first attempt, only subtests may be taken.
Seating is limited, and a 30-day waiting period between tests is required.

Education candidates with fewer than 60 semester hours and seeking a Paraprofessional position to work in Special Education and/or Title I settings in Missouri must achieve a passing score on the Paraprofessional test. The test measures competencies in English language arts and basic mathematics skills for practicing and prospective paraprofessionals. Seating is limited.

For the remote online proctored test, you will take the test on your computer or laptop anytime (24/7), whenever it is convenient for you. When prompted to select between the Allied Health or Nursing option, choose Allied Health. The proctor services will be Proctorio.

The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a computer-based exam that is required for admission into the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Practical Nurse (PN), and Paramedic programs. This is a computer-based diagnostic instrument that assists health occupations education programs evaluate academic aptitude, learning styles, and test-taking skills of new applicants to their programs. The TEAS is a four-part assessment with subtests in reading (28%), mathematics (20%), science (32%), and English and language usage (20%). Official score reports are available immediately after the test administration. The total testing time is four hours.
