Articulation Agreements to Ease Transfer of TRC Students to Southeast Programs in Business, Agriculture

Three Rivers College is announcing that students registered by June 20 will be the first group reviewed for Three Rivers Endowment Trust scholarship eligibility for the 2019-2020 school year. This priority scholarship deadline is to help ensure that funds are available for scholarship recipients at the very beginning of the semester.

Three Rivers College Releases Spring 2019 Dean’s List

Three Rivers College has released its Dean’s List for the Spring 2019 semester. The honor is awarded to students taking 12 or more credit hours in a semester, who achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or above. Dean’s List honors are also used at graduation to help determine eligibility for honors or highest honors.

Three Rivers College hosts seventh annual fundraising golf tournament

The Three Rivers Endowment Trust will host its seventh Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, June 14, at Westwood Hills Country Club in Poplar Bluff. The four-person scramble tournament will begin with check in and lunch at noon, followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Following the tournament, there will be a cocktail reception from 5:30-7:30 p.m., which will include a shrimp boil. The evening reception is open to the public.

Three Rivers College is hosting its 27th Annual Children’s Theater Drama Camp for students entering grades 2-8. The camp will be held 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. July 8 – 12 at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the Three Rivers College Poplar Bluff campus. The students will have a final performance at 11 a.m. on July 12 at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center.

The Three Rivers College Lady Raiders basketball team defeated Moberly Area Community College 82-77 to become the Region XVI Champions on Sunday, March 3. The Lady Raiders are now 26-3 for the season.

The Libla Family Sports Complex on the Three Rivers College Poplar Bluff campus recently held its inaugural events. There was a ribbon cutting, tours of the facility, Alumni Reunion activities, and Lady Raiders and Raiders basketball games. In all, more than 2,000 people attended the opening events.

Three Rivers College – Sikeston Announces Addition of Licensed Practical Nurse Program

Three Rivers College is pleased to announce the addition of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Program at its Sikeston location. The Missouri State Board of Nursing approved the new program this week. The first 30-seat cohort will begin in January 2020 with an application deadline of October 1, 2019. The College will assume control of the program from Sikeston public schools, whose final class will graduate Summer 2019.

Three Rivers College to celebrate alumni, new sports complex at Alumni Reunion

Three Rivers College will honor the contributions and successes of its alumni at the annual Alumni Reunion celebration. The events on Saturday, February 2, will be the first publicly held in the new Libla Family Sports Complex on the College’s Poplar Bluff Campus. The Raiders and Lady Raiders opening basketball games in the new sports complex will be held that day in conjunction with the Alumni Reunion. All Three Rivers former students, graduates, and former and current faculty and staff, will receive free admission to the games versus State Fair and Alumni Reunion activities. The ribbon cutting for the new sports complex will be held at 3 p.m.

Three Rivers College searching for directors for Center Stage productions

Center Stage, the Three Rivers College community theater group, is accepting proposals from potential directors for the 2019-2020 season. Proposals should include a short description of the play or musical and a list of cast members or types. To help determine costs, proposals should include the different sets and set pieces, a brief description of costumes and number of costume changes, and any specialized props or effects needed. The Three Rivers College Art Department is pleased to announce that Rose Anne Barbour Huck, an award-winning landscape artist working and living in the Poplar Bluff area, will be the featured artist at the Tinnin Center Art Gallery January 12 to February 22, 2019. Russian National Ballet to perform Cinderella at Three Rivers College

Patrons of the Arts presents a performance of the Russian National Ballet, a world-famous Moscow-based ballet troupe at 7 p.m. January 28 at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the Three Rivers College campus. The troupe will perform Sergei Prokofiev’s “Cinderella,” one of the most popular and melodious Russian ballets.

Grant helps Three Rivers College build apprenticeship program

Three Rivers College recently received a grant from the Division of Workforce Development through the Missouri Registered Apprenticeship Program (MORAP) that has allowed the College to start an apprenticeship program in cooperation with area manufacturers. The goal of the program is to work with local businesses to create much-needed highly-skilled workers. Currently, the program includes Industrial Maintenance Technician and Tool & Die Maintenance.

Kennett Trivia Night funds scholarships for students at Three Rivers College – Kennett

The Second Annual Trivia Night in Kennett held on November 15 helped raise more than $2,000 to fund scholarships for students enrolled at Three Rivers College - Kennett. The event was sponsored by Luck Casino in Caruthersville. Other sponsors and participants included Dolphin Land Co., Tractor Supply Company, Walmart, Kennett Orthopaedic Center, and Crow, Reynolds, Shetley, McVey & Scherer.

Three Rivers College and Patrons of the Arts presented The Imaginary Theatre Company production of “The Christmas Skates” to a number of schools. The theater group traveled throughout Southeast Missouri performing the musical for elementary school children. Sponsors in each of the seven area towns helped make these performances possible.

Acclaimed musical of the Christmas truce of 1914 coming to Three Rivers College

Patrons of the Arts presents “All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914” performed by the acclaimed Theater Latté Da of Minneapolis at 7 p.m. December 6 at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the campus of Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff. “All is Calm” is a true tale from World War I. The dramatic musical takes place in 1914 when Allied and German soldiers laid down their arms to celebrate Christmas together.

Patrons of the Arts presents Oh Happy Day, a supergroup of talented vocalists from Branson that will perform their high-energy variety show “Goin’ Back to Gospel” at 7 p.m. November 15 at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center. The show mixes singing, dancing, and comedy while highlighting some of the greatest classic gospel songs of all time.

Three Rivers College Patrons of the Arts and the Rodgers Theatre have partnered to present Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, an award-winning progressive bluegrass/gospel ensemble. The group will perform at 7 p.m. November 3 at the Rodgers Theatre. Lawson is an International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame inductee, and the band is known for their excellent blend of musicianship and harmonies. Three Rivers College and the Sikeston Jaycees will hold the Sterling Pharmacy Championship College Rodeo October 11-13. The event will be held at the Art Saunders Arena at the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo grounds. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. each night, with the rodeo beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will be $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 4-12; and free for ages 3 and younger.
