Faurecia donates stretcher to Three Rivers EMS Program
Faurecia in Dexter donated a full X-frame EMS stretcher with backboard to Three Rivers College for use in its Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic programs.
“We appreciate this donation, which we will place into the donated ambulance that we have to provide our students with realism in patient care scenarios,” said Tami Cunningham, Coordinator of the Emergency Medical Services Program at Three Rivers. Stretchers such as this one can cost more than $9,000.
“Donations such as this help us provide our students with the latest equipment that they will encounter in their field experiences. This allows our students to be familiar with the equipment they will be using during their field internships with the area ambulance services,” Cunningham said.
“Faurecia is proud to partner with the Three Rivers EMS Program,” said Michael Pulley, Plant Manager for the Faurecia facility in Dexter. “We are happy that this donation will directly benefit the members of our community.”
Three Rivers offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Paramedic and a One-Year Certificate in Paramedic. The Paramedic program prepares EMTs to apply for National Registry Examination for paramedic licensure and to provide safe and effective pre-hospital emergency care for sick and injured adults and children. Three Rivers also offers a Short-Term Certificate in Emergency Medical Services for those wanting to train to become an emergency medical technician.
The deadline to apply for the Paramedic Program is May 1. For more information about the Paramedic and EMS programs, visit trcc.edu/forms/catalog/programs/emergencyservices or contact Cunningham at 573-840 -9672 or firstname.lastname@example.org
