Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) find employment in a variety of work settings. Demand for LPNs is strong now and into the future.

Three Rivers offers its one-year Practical Nurse Certificate Program at the Poplar Bluff campus and at TRC-Sikeston. The 55-credit-hour program prepares students to apply for licensure by examination as a licensed practical nurse. Students learn to use the nursing process in providing safe and effective nursing care for clients in structured primary and secondary care settings.

Students must make application and meet certain criteria to be considered for admission into Three Rivers' Practical Nurse program. Criteria information and deadlines are on the application.

Career Information

Three Rivers' Certificate in Practical Nurse prepares you to apply for licensure by examination as a Licensed Practical Nurse. LPNs find employment in hospitals, physician's offices, clinics, assisted living facilities, and home health agencies.

LPNs who want to continue to advance in their nursing careers can apply to the TRC LPN-to-RN Bridge Program, a three-semester program that leads to an AAS in Nursing and prepares students to apply for licensure by examination as a registered nurse.
